The new 2,200-metre runway at Nuuk will be established on the existing runway, which will be used during the entire construction period.

It requires careful planning, precision and continuous coordination between all parties involved in the project.

The construction work is divided into several phases. According to the plan, the southern end of the runway must be completed first and put into operation. Then the existing runway will be closed, and the construction work of the north end of the new runway will be intensified.

The final construction work will be completed when the primary construction work on the north end has been completed. The final construction work consists of asphalting the entire runway. Once the asphalting has been completed, the finished 2,200-metre runway can be put into operation.
